Gorgeous hair comb circa 1900s featuring a crescent moon of brilliant, sparkling paste stones.
This piece makes me think of the goddess Diana, often depicted with an upturned crescent moon in her hair.
I have found a phenomenal photograph (on StageBeauty.net) of the Victorian era actress Mary Anderson wearing a similar piece for some style inspiration :)
The comb itself is made of celluloid and has a faint faux-tortoise shell design. The gilt brass moon is affixed to the comb on a hinge.

Lovely condition overall, the stones all sparkle so brightly in the light. There very slight/normal wear to the celluloid comb, but it is only cosmetic and wouldn't be seen when worn.
