Gorgeous Scottish agate bracelet circa mid-late 19th century (c. 1860s-1890s).
Engraved sterling silver clasp and hardware (unmarked but tested). Stones featured are stunning moss agate, carnelian, Montrose agate, and bloodstone.
Inlaid with Scottish agate, these pieces, often known as Victorian Scottish hardstone jewelry, exploded in popularity during the Victorian era as a result of Queen Victoria's love of everything Scottish (a sentiment with which I can definitely relate!).
Jewelry with this design and colorful use of stones was sometimes known as Scottish pebble jewelry, Scottish agate jewelry, or Scottish hardstone jewelry.
+++ Measurements +++
7" wearable length and 1" wide at the widest.
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition overall with minor age-related wear. Some chips to the center carnelian stone on the back side only. A portion of the stone appears to have some natural imperfection/variation or perhaps an old repair, but it is not noticeable and does not detract from the beauty of this piece.
