Pietra dura translates to "hard stone" in Italian and refers to a mosaic technique dating back to Roman times.
In the Victorian era, this particular style of jewelry came into fashion again and the most popular designs were floral images like the one depicted in this piece, which dates from around the 1870s.
Unmarked but tested as 14k gold.

Lovely condition overall with some minor flaws to note:
- Hairline fracture on one side, not very visible and the stones are still secure
- Some faint scratches or surface fractures, again, barely visible upon magnified inspection and do no affect the integrity of the piece
