c. 1920 14k White Gold Bacchus / Dionysus Cameo

Gorgeous, large carved shell cameo brooch and pendant featuring Dionysus, also known as Bacchus, or one of the deity's followers, wreathed in grape vines.
Bacchus / Dionysus was the god of the grape harvest, wine making, and many other festive activities.
The beautifully detailed, very fine cameo is set into a 14k white gold frame and can be worn as either a brooch or a pendant.
I was able to find a catalog page c. 1920 showing near identical cameos (though the carving on this one is much finer than those pictured) to help date this piece, and I have included an image in the photo section of the listing.
