A gorgeous pair of black, striped cotton stockings circa late 19th to early 20th century. If you're a stocking expert perhaps you can get a bit closer to an exact date!
I was able to find some very similar styles in an 1882 catalog, see photos.
On one heel is a printed four digit number that is a bit faded. These are sturdy and would certainly be wearable with care.

8.5" heel to toe with approx 1.5" of comfortable stretch
25" tall
11.5" upper thigh circumference with approx 3.5-4" of comfortable additional stretch.

Lovely condition with really no noticeable flaws I can find. A bit dusty perhaps but free of odors and appear to never have been worn.
