Incredible coiled snake in 14k gold with an old mine cut diamond, circa the turn of the century, late 1890s to early 1900s.
Lovely details, this little guy has charisma! I fell in love the moment I saw him. He really looks like he is just coiled up around your finger when you wear him :)
Although she didn't come up with the idea, Queen Victoria popularized the snake motif in jewelry during the 19th century, and her engagement ring from Prince Albert was a coiled snake with rubies, diamonds, and a large emerald inset into the head.
The coiled snake can represent love, eternity, commitment, and wisdom.
Marked 585 inside the band, which is the European equivalent of a 14k gold mark.
